I'm fascinated by the measure adjusting mechanism. It IS a fascinating post. When were these made?

Wow, I didn't notice the spout,  guess I should pay more attention.
I have a handled spout or ladle I guess, just like it.
 Very interesting.

Most of these flask were made from the 1830,s onwards  mostly for fowlers who used their big bore guns such has  a 4 and 2 bore bank guns   and small punt guns The powder they used  was coarse powder  and the smaller bore such has a 6,7, 8 used  a smaller grain  powder  such has  Fg and FFg.

So this is a picture of a Punt gun being fired from a Punt. I'm guessing they fired a flocks of waterbirds swimming.

That is correct . most wildfowlers of the Victorian period made a living from punt gunning  and these the gun and punt were known has tools of trade .

Feltwad,
What was the approximate capacity of the flask?
Curious, what powder charge did they use in the 4 bore and the 2 bore guns?  Years back, I set up at a gun show just down the row from a fellow who was showing a 2 bore rifle, among other things.  He was saying the service charge on that was about 500 grains of Fg.  Oofda !!!!!

I think he is well over the top with  500 grains  for a 2 bore rifle, My 4 bore shotgun is proofed out at  10 drms  =275 grains my 2 bore bank gun is 12 drms  =330grains this flask throws 12 to 15 drms which is more suited for a small punt gun, My rampart gun which is a 4 bore rifle   is also 10 drms of powder and used on the  man of war for blasting out the rigging  see image  size against a 557 mini
