Dutch/Flemish Knife
« on: October 02, 2010, 10:44:44 AM »
A first for me. 6" blade of 01 tool steel with a through tang peened over 1/8" steel butt plate. Octagon grip is file decorated Boxwood. Center seam in the back sheath is formed vege-tan stained black with a vinegar/iron solution. Hope you enjoy a look.

Nice one, although to me it has kind of a strange shape.  :)  Double edged?

No, just the single edge. This was a popular style for the Dutch/flemish, french, ect. Many call this a sheepsfoot blade.
