There were some very anxious moments as I stood before the gun, drill in hand, finger poised on the trigger telling myself" Ronnie, don't screw it up. If you miss drill that hole the new stock is gonna cost you $$$ and time!"

The RR hole isn't drilled already? I won't be getting one of those kits anytime soon.

The RR Hole was drilled. I had to drill the lock bolts, tang bolt and touch hole in the barrel. Also had to drill out for the underlugs and for all of the pins..trigger pin, pipes and underlugs...and finally the rivet for the nose cap.

The Chambers kit was first rate!

Buffler, what grade of wood is that considered, fancy or extra fancy??

Brian,
That was the standard wood that Chambers sent. I paid a bit more for the wood patch box, but nothing else.
Razz

Thanks BR, that is a nice looking piece of wood for a standard grade!!

Thanks Mule Brain, it sure was fun to build. Now the real fun starts!

Brian,
I was very happy with the wood, and everything else too. I made a few calls to Chambers, both before I bought it and while I was working on it. Jim and Barbie were great to talk to and more than helpful.

Thanks! She is a shooter too. Been working on some loads and filing the front sight down a bit. Right now I am dropping 110 gr of 2F with a .020 spit patch. At 50 yards I have been able to keep 3 shots in an inch off the bench, and usually have 2 cutting each other. Need to run up to 100 yards next weekend and see what happens. I'm looking forward to deer season this year!
