Got a whopper of a knife

My wife and I were in a local pawn shop and she asked if I saw that behemoth Bowie under the counter

I had to laugh at the size of it when I asked to look at it the lady told me she would just about give it to me cause she was tired of everyone wanting to look at it but not buy it

So she said $20.00 and I thought it was worth it just for the conversations it will start

The handle is as big as a soda can

It's sitting under a new to me walker but that's another story

Still yet, I betcha you be able to find a good use for it.
Big, huge, heavy, knives are just that, but they do have a purpose, and when you need that big, heavy, knife, you really need it, and you'll flat-out ruin the smaller knives trying to do the job that the big one will.

My favorite hunting carry knife, and by "carry" I mean carry all the time I'm in the field, only has a 4-3/4" blade and is very useful around camp for simple chores, and even preparing food.
However, in my haversack I also carry a "whopper of a knife" and it's purpose is chopping, cutting kindling for the fire, and breaking down the pelvic of the animal I just shot if I'm going to have to quarter it and pack it out.
The knife is right at 15" in overall length, with a blade length of about 8" it has a 2.5" blade width, and is a full 1/4" thick. weight is 22 oz.....pretty hefty knife.
Getting a bit old for packing out hind quarters any more, but there's times when there's no way I'm going to get it out unless I am the one doing the packin,
Since it's a pretty big knife, I can carry it three ways...on the belt, on a left side shoulder carry, or in my haversack. It's getting a little old but it has held up good, and still holds a razor shape edge.

Take the handle off and make a belt buckle out of the crown and put a more realistic handle on the blade.
