GOEX powder is in stock at Powder Valley, INC. $27.95 per pound but it's available.
-
OUCH!
-
Good to know it's back in stock, even though the price of BP has become redictulous...
This price gouging will have a direct impact on this (sport / hobby), as it normally does. Fortunately, I have other hobbies I can turn to, which give me enjoyment. I reckon
it's time to get back to them.

I still have the stuff to make BP but I haven't bought a press or dies to complete the process.
It's easier to buy powder I guess.
I am picking up 5# of new production goex tomorrow at our club Christmas party thru one of our secret back alley underground after dark connections. Ha.
20$ per # . So a clean hundred dollar bill y'all. Holla.
So last yr was my first experience with monthly shoots and a hand full of rendezvous.
IIRC I used around 3# of powder , at today's prices under 100$ to spend a summer of fun with my friends. Not too high a price to pay for me.

Like Kdubs I average @4lbs a year. 2or3 shoots per month, then the regional shoot and the annual state shoot and our postal shoots, not to mention practice. so If I total up gun club dues, NRA dues, TMA dues, black powder, primers, etc. i guesstimate I spend $500 a year on this obsession. It's damn well worth it to me. That being said I still hope prices will drop as they get in to full production.

AND, their Swiss is $36! :o At those prices I may just stick with flinging arrows. I can't help but think that, somehow, it's all a liberal plot! Can't afford to buy guns anymore, can't afford to buy ammo either. Once the powder vault is empty I may take up knitting instead! :laffing :laffing :laffing

Sure, Kees. We ALL believe you!........... :luff: :luff: :luff: :luff: :luff:

Might be a good time to get back to my primitive archery... Sad part is that I don't expect BP prices to go down... It never has before when there was a price increase. Those folks making their own powder just might be on'to something...

You seen the cost of arrows these days. Let alone bows.
I don't think there are any cheap hobbies.

Yep, I got the Three Rivers catalog the other day and had to sit down when I saw the prices they were asking. I make my own arrows but even supplies for that have gotten ridiculous.
I stopped at Rocky Boots yesterday to check if they have percussion caps and their price for reloading powder was around $56 per pound. Thanks, Joe Biden!

What were they getting for caps, Kees?
-
They didn't have any caps. I apologize for not making that clear.
