7 Lakes Archery bowyer Mike Ballenger made me a real nice 68" Hill style string-follow longbow "blank" that just required sanding. Action-boo cores under black glass, and an ipe riser. I took the extra step and added red oak riser and tip overlays. After final shaping and sanding of the riser and all overlays, I sanded everything out with 600 grit, then I sprayed on 5 coats of MinWax Helmsman spar varnish, with 0000 steel wool buffing between coats. I spun up a D'02 endless string. The holding weight is 48# @ 29" and it's by far the best American flat bow I've shot or owned, and I've had many dozens over the decades.

Beautiful bow Rob! :notworthy
It makes my "Montana Longbow" look kind'a shabby by comparison.
How much does Mr. Ballenger ask for such a "blank"?
