Horn Strap
« on: October 13, 2012, 04:05:06 PM »
After procrastinating for centuries, I finally finished that burlap horn strap.  Burlap unravels like crazy so cut edges have to be sealed.  The procrastination?  I'll work on that later.

We used that stuff in upholstery since the mid 1800's(no,not me!). Remember my Grandfather Complaining when it went from $1.78 for a 200yd roll to $2.15! Good stuff to work with.

Looks good hanshi, I'm right there withya. I have a roll of that stuff, but I've only had it 3 yrs. and am figurin to designate a roundtooit (to it).
How much did you narrow it up?
I was thinking of sewing on a backing of lite brain tan.
Cant decide if I'll put it on a horn or a bag though.

Kinda late on this but the roll was originally 3" which was the narrowest available.  I dut it down the middle for two 1-1/2" straps.  Trouble is they do unravel after being cut.  I mostly fixed that by wiping glue along the cut edge.
