I learned this morning that Ron LaClair (Longhunter) passed away Saturday evening in his cabin on the family farm. He was one of the last remaining archery pioneers and will be sorely missed.

Very sad to hear this. Ron was a great guy, archer, and promoter of traditional muzzle loading. He will be missed.

Sad news for sure, RIP Ron, he's back together with his beloved Red Bird! ironic that we were just talking about Ron and the TMA video

I'm sorry to be reading this.
For several years we sent and received Christmas Cards from Ron and Redbird. I haven't received a card back in about 3 or 4 years now. A few years after Redbird passed away I heard Ron was not doing well. I wrote him several letters after that but never got a reply. I am not surprised to be reading this.
Both Traditional Archery and Traditional Muzzleloadinghas lost a great friend, and promoter, with the passing of Ron LaClare.

I knew Ron from Trad Gang, we had many a powwow together, he is missed.

Sad times…Ron had many skills that a lot of us envied….he lived the life, and shared a lot with us RIP Ron.

I was afraid of this after not getting replies to emails for the last couple of years. Losing Red Bird was a blow to him which he never got over, I'm afraid.
We'll see him again on the other side!
