My .45 shoots a .440" ball with a .022" patch.  Powder charge is usually 60 grains of 3F which gives about 1700 fps.  I have a Lyman mold for a .445" ball but the balls measure only about .443".  I can see a true .445" Lee mold in my future.  The rifle is a late Lancaster flint with a straight 36" X 13/16" barrel.
