Wow - That is beautiful work Charlie!!
-
Man, oh man, oh man!
I do like that fancy 'stuff'!
Charlie, IMHO, you can give up that day job, anytime you like, and concentrate on the things that brings excitement to other peoples life. Your skills are simply phenomenal!
Uncle Russ...
-
You sure got some "talent" Captchee!!!!!!!! :rt th
-
And WHAT talent, too. Impeccable, IMHO.
-
When a person can take an ugly piece of plain metal, and turn it into beautiful piece of art, trying to put that into words usually results in an inadequate description...
So I think this will suffice...
indubitable pulchritudinous!
-
WOW! What a great job. It's beautiful!

What everyone else said, and more.
Bravo.

O..M..G.. Charlie, that is looking awesome. Sure wish I had even a small amount of your talent.
How are you finding the steel in that gun? I've heard that they're harder than others.
-
actualy i have not found it hard to work at all .
i did break a #8 beading tool but other then that , keep the gravers sharp and she cuts fine
-
ok so here is an up date . so far just over 100 hours into this and still have a ways to go LOL

You have really dialed in your skills on this, Cap...
-
What will be the final finish on this fine piece? Can I assume the original was blued?
-
yes the original was blued i believe . but the owner i think is going to keep it bright or french greyed . not sure other then it wont be blued again
-

Oh my, where did the roll engraving on the cylinder go? :rotf
Well, actually, I don't think it will be missed for even one second.
Truly magnificent.
As was said, sure wish I had even a small percent of your talent.
What was the bottom line on time invested in that?
Thank you so much for sharing that.
John

never had roll engraving bigsmoke .
for all the relief work , beading and such 1500.00
-
Don't cut yourself short my friend - you are worth WAY more than $15 / hour
-
ya , but it took longer then it probably should have . it also was my first attempt at a beaded background, which I had to relieve between all the scroll work then come back with a beader . Each one of those little round beads are done one at a time . Who ever says beading a background is quick , isn’t telling the whole story LOL
-
Your skill and talent are most astounding Cap. If I could do with leather what you do with those engravers and such...
-
Captchee..........I am left breathless by your talent....the only superlative that comes close to my feelings is....."Outstanding". "Doc"
-
Haven't been here in a while but......I'm the lucky gent(?) who got Charlie to engrave my Centaure and it wouldn't seem fittin' not to let you all know how much his work is appreciated. I was a fine jeweler for 34 yrs and in my experience, Captchee's work rivals any I've ever seen! I remember when he 1st started engraving only a short time ago and where he is now, and there is no doubt in my mind that we are in the presence of a "Natural Talent". This shooter will never be for sale, but it will be shot, (I don't own any safe queen's), then eventually thrown in the coffin with me when I go. And, no, I will not divulge where I'm gonna be buried LOL! Must have said it about 80 times already but, again, Thanks Charlie !!
-
your welcome Roland , glad to do it

Cap's gonna need a new hat. Fine-Fine 60 is my #1 fav. colt, had one since 1978. ....Tom
