Who in the world is "No Powder"?
« on: October 25, 2018, 07:39:33 PM »
Many of you Postal Shooters often see the name No Powder show up in the Match Results, and I betcha think "who is this guy?"
You never see him posting, talking about his hunts. or his guns, or his shooting, so who is this guy?

Well, "No Powder" is Charter Member #75.
He has been with us since day one.
Back in early 2005 he read about a new organization starting up that was about Traditional Muzzleloaders, so decided he wanted to be a small part of that organization....
No Powder, or Tom Faidley lives in Rockwood, PA, and he doesn't use the computer, but he is a big part of the TMA. At least in some of our hearts.

Ohio Joe makes sure he has targets every year, and on occasion we might even get a letter from Tom.
Tom usually calls me, "because he knows I'm lazy and don't work, plus I normally answer the phone..."
Did you guys realize that some folks are so doggone busy they won't even bother to answer their phone?

I had the pleasure of talking to Tom today, and it always gives me a nice warm feeling to hear from him.
Tom, like many of us, is getting a little long in the tooth.
Over the years, there has been others like Tom,  where that new computer fad just never caught on with them, and they don't miss it at all....well, not much anyway.

While many of us can't understand how on earth a person could possibly support a Internet based organization, and not use a computer, let me assure you it has been happening with the TMA for a long time now.

And....personally, I feel I'm a better person each time I talk to Tom.
He possesses an ability to make a person feel humble, and we can all use a little bit of that every now and then.

Here's to "No Powder"!  :toast   :toast   :toast

Respectfully, Uncle Russ...
It's the many things we don't do that totally sets us apart.

Considering all the time I waste on this confuser, and all the frustration it causes, I would say he's a very smart man!  :bow

I may never have the pleasure of talking with you, but I'll be looking for you on the shootin' scoreboards.

Hopefully, Uncle Russ and Ohio Joe will pass this along, otherwise this'll be like a tree falling in the forest with no one to hear.

The trouble with doing things right the first time is no one realizes how hard it was.
Often, however, the following is more applicable.
I stand corrected, a position somewhat painful to achieve, but once there, is quite satisfying.

You're spot-on, but not to worry.....I will be downloading and snail mailing this entire thread to Tom....Give it a little time.

IMHO, It should be up long enough to give all the oldtimers an opportunity to see.
I'm sure it will mean a lot to them to know their brother Tom has indeed stuck with them through all these years, although his forum presence has been severely limited.

After all, it is indeed the little things in life.....
