Riley/MN:
I got a note from John (Fletcher) asking me to post that he is on the road and away from his computer. Iam not sure if there was somebody specifically trying to get in touch with him, but if you are, he will get back to you when he gets back to a computer,,,

Bigsmoke:
Man, that's a scary thought, being on the road in Kalifornia.  Via con Dios, amigo.  Hang on to yer topknot.

Fletcher:
I am back from a trip to Napa Valley and Concord - sure sounds like grape and wine....

So we decided to look up some winery tours and bopped around the valley.....

Ya know it is still January - even on the left coast - so....

The grapes are all pruned and dormant and the winerys pretty much closed up.
Found a nice little roadside mini agri mall with lots of shops - the winery only open a
few hours a week to sell bottled stuff.....   but there was a great micro brewery in the
mall and the meister was from Idaho with lots of time in Montana.  So we had a nice chat,
and I tried a snifter of most all the brews - then had a pint of a nice smokey Pilsner much like
up north .....

So I can go back and tell the folks in Montana that a had a great trip to Napa Valley Kali - and had a .....

BEER    :rotf

Bigsmoke:
Heck, John, you went to the wrong place if all the wineries were boarded up.
San Luis Obispo County has somewhere north of 300 wineries and I haven't noticed any of them being closed yet!  Just because the vines are dormant yet doesn't mean they aren't selling wine.
We hear that Napa Valley area is kind of snobbish anywho, so no doubt they just up and close and head into San Francisco for whatever it is that people go into SF for.  Personally, I have no idea, as I seldom if ever go there.  Cannot stand that place, ugh!!!  Had to drive through there last August, and I could not wait to get out of the area.
John

Fletcher:
Most of the folk were nice that we met - but I find that if I want a decent wine the
BevMo chains have great price and selection.  The guy at the brewery was a hoot
and we were there for business anyway.  I need to keep in touch in case my travels take
me up t Morrow Bay
