Can't find a boolit to fit an oversize bore?
Lap out the mold diameter.
You can lap molds using Zinc wheel weights to cast a slug with a stem on it.
The mold diameter can be enlarged by loading the slug with automotive valve grinding paste and turning the slug by hand within the closed mold.
It doesn't take long to lap a mold out .001"

Great hint, I am going to give it a try on one of my .495 molds, as I really want a .498 ball for this one particular gun.

try http://castpics.net/dpl/index.php/the-library/moulds/282-lee-menting-a-mold. This gives the basics of the process. It's just lapping the mold cavities to deburr them. I have always just "smoked" the cavities instead of the graphite mold release he speaks of and had good luck. Most folks forget to draw file the sprue plate as well. That'll prevent the scratches across the top of your mold IF you remember to do it BEFORE you flip the sprue plate across the mold for the first time.
