ken:
I am starting to build a chunk gun and was wondering if any of you chunk shooters could give me some rough ideals and thoughts on how much drop for a chunk gun due to shooting in the prone position. I know it will vary from individual shooters but in general terms what are your thougts.

Ohio Joe:
Hi Ken,

Mine has a 3.25" drop and is comfortable for me to shoot from the chunk.  I'm 5'9" so perhaps you can judge something from that?

If I were to do another, I would probably cut back to 2 3/4" drop.

ken:
Is that measured the standard way from the top of the barrel? Sounds like a stupid question but the reason I ask is are the height of the sights took into consideration. 1/4" to 1/2" high sights have been used.

Ohio Joe:
The measurement is from the top flat.  the sight on a chunk gun is secondary as you shoot for groups on a spotter.  Therefore it matters not if you're shooting high, low, left or right.  You just keep shooting at the same spot on the spotter while having posted your target where the shots are grouping. :shake

ken:
Hey Joe have you been doing any chunking lately?
