Thank You All!
Feels good to see my name on such an august list.

I blame it all on good luck. Everything came together at the right time. 2 days with beautiful weather and no wind. An adjustment to ball and patch worked better than I'd hoped. The rifle and my eyes were working well. And I waited until the last minute so the chickens would be tired of jumping around.

1st place is good, but it's the friendly competition that makes me work to be better and gets me out to the range more often.

Thanks for letting me play!  :hairy

Based on the percentages over the years I'd say it's Black Powder Bill we should all be aimin' for.  140 shots, 128 hits  = 91%
And, if Mad Irish Jack starts participating again, we're all in trouble. 58 out of 60 = 97%

Well, I'm feeling spunky well (a hello to our Ausie neighbors), and plan on standing back in and popping balls through the smoke again. Been playing with my grandson and his small bore (.22 cal) shooting club. He's doing fine and has the understanding to where I'm the open door to the backroom, problem solver, for him. It's satisfying when you give the tip; they look as if they're thinking 'Oh wow, I can do it on my own."; then you tell again,& it's I'm working it; then they start doing the suggested techniques and the expression is 'Oh WOW!', then it becomes,"OK I got it now" and they say, "Thanks Pappy Jack, I got this!" Very satisfying feeling. The rest is fun.  So back to here, Congrats on some fine shooting Sharpstick. I had some family stuff and re-injuries that seem to be worked out, and I'm feeling enough desire to get out and at it again. I hope not to be thought of as a poppycock shooter but rather as someone who answers questions and drives the desire in others to attain their goals to improve without loosing the drive to have fun first and let the shooting land where it does. I had a Graybeard tell me, years ago, the only shooter you want to beat is the one owning and shooting your gun.

2020 Targets,,, 2019 TMA Paper Silhouette Awards,,, and our 2019 Mike Fink 1st Place Team Awards will be coming out towards the middle to end of March.  :hairy

The TMA also thanks all of you who take part in our shooting programs, be it any of the Award's Programs, to our Monthly Bragging Right Postal Matches.  :shake

Exercising those smoke poles out at your Local Range where others can see these old firearms in use, is the best publicity we can have, IMHO... For many a years I've offered up a shot or two to anyone who's interested in taking one or two - and although I can't say it has brought anyone over here to the TMA,,, I've heard comments like; "damn' I wish I'd of gotten something like this instead of that Inline" and "that is really neat" as well as "my wife 'ill kill me if I get another gun..." I figure it's seeds planted that might take root in the future.  :shake
