Title: Leaf or coil
Post by: KDubs on April 14, 2024, 02:44:02 PM
So it looks like this question is getting lost in my other thread so I'll post here.
Is there any reason to change my current coil spring TC cap lock to a leaf or V spring.
 Don't care about HC here.
Is a leaf faster, not as mushy feeling as s coil. More reliable? Easier maintenance?
 Looking at 200$.
 What would you do?

JMHO, If it works leave it alone! if you're going to spend 200 on a lock, might as well get the rest of a Hawken kit with a good barrel and build a new one or wait for the Kibler Hawken to come out, did you see the vid with the new machine working the tumbler and cutting a pocket for a fly? no need for a fly on the single triggers, just saying, I bet it's the fowler this summer and the Hawken next year!

I'm with Beav on this one. If you're happy with it's performance, don't F#$% with it! I'm also waiting impatiently for Kibler's new fowler!!! :applaud :applaud :applaud

I'll keep it coil. Just had to know what others thought.
I too may be waiting on a kibler Fowler. Maybe !

Kevin,
Here is my $.02, not that it matters, but...
If I were wanting to get a smoothie, trade gun, or whatever, I would opt for a Chief's Grade Trade Gun.  Smoother lines, a little more drop to the stock, and it is just a prettier gun.
Since the average gun spends about 99% of its time on the wall, I'd just as soon have something that looks better.  And the 1% of its time where it is being shot, that should be a pleasant experience and make you smile, rather that frown and curse.

Hey John. Nice pics on the CDA FB page.
I've been told a north star trade gun is the way to go.
 Something I'll have to research.
