Title: Good Times In Camp
Post by: Ohio Joe on October 07, 2016, 10:25:35 AM
I reckon one of my special and favorite events has always been the Rendezvous with family and friends. We gotta get back to this. My son and I at Chadron Fur Trade Days when we were a'lot younger. Sure do miss this.

Not sure about other areas of the country, but from what I have been seeing at the few rondies I have attended here on the left coast, it has become pretty much an old person activity.  Few kids and kid events.  Not much in the way of canvas, but lots of motor homes and travel trailers.  RDV traders numbers are way down.  Etc. On the other hand, the Pacific Primitive is still a good event with people of all ages represented.  But the question is, why are they not going to other events and keeping them young?  That I have no answer for.

The Chadron doin's had a really good turn out this year for our 40th, but last year was kinda sparse. However, last year I did noticed that there are some younger couples joining in with children, (not as many as there use to be).  Sure, it's not like the old days, but you sure know you're meeting, and once again seeing, some of the best people on earth. I don't know if Rondy 'ill shine agin, but I'm sure hoping it does.

I can't wait to make it to the fur trade days in Chadron
Every year we have been so busy on the farm I always miss it and say next year
That week is always when it's the busiest putting up hay but I promised my kids 2017 will be the year we go
They had a blast at the museum when we were through
Does the TMA have a booth there or a table

I would love to make it over myself! We don't have a table, but there may be a showing there, I do not know for sure...

If you do, look me up! I'll be there with my grandson. We're practicing the hawk, and getting a little shooting in when we can. Already got my vacation days lined up for next years doin's. It's always held the weekend after the 4th of July weekend.

I  haven't seen a booth or table, but I usually drop our name to people and tell them to visit our website. :rt th
