As of 5:30 pm today (Mountain Time) I left my work place of 25 years as an employee, and became a newly retired / retiree... :)
I'll naturally miss my co-workers and our friendly customers, but it's not like I won't see them as I live in a small town where a person usually knows just about everyone's name... It's been a good run with lots of good folks! :toast
I gotta say, it feels pretty darn good. :hairy

Way to go Joe, I'm not too far behind you. I'm gone in May. :hairy :bow

Congrats, Joe. Hope you enjoy the decision. I must say, I cannot see how anyone in their right mind would not enjoy it. And I understand how people would enjoy continue working after retirement time comes and goes.
:hairy Right on.

Congratulations, Joe! You'll love retirement (even with the honey do's). :applaud :hairy

Congratulations, Joe! I'm jealous.
The honey do's have got to be better than the "are you done with that yet"s I get on the job.

Congratulations Joe ! :toast

Thanks all, I hope to make the best of it. :hairy
Mother Nature has seen fit to keep it a bit cold and snowy - so my workshop time is pushed back a bit, as well as getting to the Range and making smoke... However, all in all,,, this is a good day to relax and drink a little coffee, and start another possibles bag, or tinker with some flint wallets or ball bags. Just have to figure out which one to jump onto first... :shake

Now here is a man who knows well of what he speaks!
I have seen a few of these so-called "Retires" that eventually just dry up and shrink into nothing, just a shell of the once working man.
I have also those who "thought" they could sit at home and drink coffee all day.
Then there are those, like myself, that can never get caught up, even though we do our very best it's never enough.
At the same time, I find myself in a very unique class, and there's a bunch of us here!
A class that will eventually get the job done.
Once you tell us it needs doing, you don't need to remind us ever six or eight months.....we didn't forget!

Got a few things on that list to get done. Not today though, it's decided to stay winter for a bit longer. Snow & wind and drifts back into the areas I shoveled this morning.
I gotta say, I'm getting a bit tired of this winter weather, as I'm sure everyone else is. When I get a chance to find out how retirement is without the dang snow and wind, I'll pass it along. Thanks guys! :shake

Congratulations, it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy! :hairy You're going to wonder how you ever were able to get stuff done while spending most of the day at work. On the other hand, don't forget to take naps, now that you have time for them. Naps are IMPORTANT! :laffing

Thanks Kees,
:laffing With this weather we're having right now, napping and shoveling snow is about all I'm getting done... :laffing
