I'll keep an eye out for 'em, Nessmuk... Sorry the chickens didn't play out for ya like you would've liked. They're tough little buggers for sure.

It was our other "fine feathered friend (turkey)" that gave me fits this year... :Doh!

Mine went in the mail this morning.  If it weren't for the last minute I'd never get anything done.  ::)

I'd been dreading having those chickens make a fool out of me with their perfectly timed steps dancing around my flying balls, but I spent the last couple mornings getting the task done.  Now I'm happy and the chickens are not  :applaud

Over the last couple months the groups I shot for postal matches had been growing bigger and bigger. So, while I put off shooting the silhouettes, I kept reading this forum and the answer came to me, thanks to all the discussion on balls and patches. I'd been shooting a .490 ball and .015 patch in my .50 cal. and later tried a .495 ball and .010 patch. Both combinations were giving me trouble.  Inspiration came from here.  For these silhouettes I used the .495 ball and .015 patch. Went down smooth and came out straight.

I gotta say the result was a significant improvement.   :hairy
The trouble with doing things right the first time is no one realizes how hard it was.
Often, however, the following is more applicable.
I stand corrected, a position somewhat painful to achieve, but once there, is quite satisfying.
