Over the last couple months the groups I shot for postal matches had been growing bigger and bigger. So, while I put off shooting the silhouettes, I kept reading this forum and the answer came to me, thanks to all the discussion on balls and patches. I'd been shooting a .490 ball and .015 patch in my .50 cal. and later tried a .495 ball and .010 patch. Both combinations were giving me trouble. Inspiration came from here. For these silhouettes I used the .495 ball and .015 patch. Went down smooth and came out straight.
I gotta say the result was a significant improvement.
