Title: Lefthanders shooting righthanded flinters
Post by: Lastmohecken on August 30, 2009, 09:17:39 PM: I'am a lefty, which doesn't usually make much difference to me, when shooting most modern rifles, even boltactions, and semi-auto's, other then the occasional unfriendly safety which I have been known to get changed, when I can. And all of my caplocks have been righthanded, but the Flintlock: I don't know.

Do any leftys on here shoot righthanded flinters, and does the flash, etc matter to you, that much? I never had much problem when cocking the hammer on a caplock, but I would sorta expect a flinter to be a little more unfriendly to pull back when on the wrong side.

Post by: Lastmohecken on August 30, 2009, 09:21:40 PM: When ordering a custom, of course, I would choose a lefthanded flinter, but there are a lot more opportunities to buy used righthanded rifles then left.

Post by: Longhunter on August 30, 2009, 11:14:23 PM: I'm a lefty and I have 4 LH flintlocks, I also have 2 RH flintlocks. I shoot all of them regularly and have never had a problem. The right handers are a little more awkward when it comes to priming the pan but for shooting there's no difference.
