You're absolutely right Salty. I'm glad I wasn't standing where that target was hanging. I tried it again today too. And I hit about an inch higher than you did. Now if I could only get my wife to clean my rifle for me, I'd say I had a  pretty good day.

I think I've seen that NWTG before,.... it looks like the one Ohio Joe bought from me some years ago at rendezvous.   :)  :hairy  :*:

I believe it is that one. And you had another that was shorter and only 54or 58 percussion as well at the time.. Marty snagged this one and I sat the fence on the other..
Ive got to source a new sear spring for this Lott lock yet, but I'll find it eventually!

Joe,.... do any of the sear springs in this link look familiar to what you have?

Can't say as I've done any historic trekking but I'd sure give that recipe a go.

Today I tried the 000 buckshot. It worked just as well as pure lead in the smoothbore pistol. Since the buck shot is harder, the balls deformed less when seated on the powder but I wouldn't say it was beneficial. The 5# box of Hornady buck was considerably cheaper than an equivalent amount of their lead, however. Don't know how well the harder material would do in a rifled bore.
