My era is 1830, located in Texas from North Carolina and Louisiana...what would I be wearing on a cold winter's day in NE Texas?
-
OK...maybe someone can help with this question...
How big of a blanket do you think I would need for a 4xl blanket coat?
-
Personally, I think a tanned/hair on buffalo pelt or brown bear pelt would work real nice to wrap up in like Little Big Man did, and to sleep in.
-
Be mighty hard to come by in my personna...and in my reality...not enough cash!
The guidelines that I have to go by say that I need a coat...

I hear there's Buff up in the land of stinking waters (Yellowstone), ya might go see if ya kin shoot one!

1830 is after my period, but in general, you'd be wearing a system of layers.
Linen/cotton shirt, wool waistcoat, wool coat, maybe an overcoat or greatcoat over that.
How cold does it get?

Not sure about Texas, but it is a misdemeanor to be below 26 for two days in a row in middle Georgia.
