Today, I bought this Ruger Old Army 45 caliber black powder cap and ball revolver at the Big Town Gun Show.

It ought to treat you well.  Good gun, well engineered, usually quite accurate.  I have had several and only one that I felt did not perform well accuracy wise.
Keep us posted on how it shoots for you.

Thanks Bigsmoke.  The guy I bought it from said he has one similar and he said it is a tack driver.  I will update after I shoot it.

You will love that cap and ball revolver. It's the best made one there is.It's a shame that Ruger took them out of perduction.

wonderful revolvers.  My first bp revolver was a Ruger. Most everything else since has been anti-climatic.

So, how does it shoot?
You really know how to keep a bunch of guys in suspense.
Since May 17.  Surely you have popped a cap by now??

Guess ol' Shotgun Willie has done flew the coop.
Too bad, was wanting to hear all about how the Ruger shot and what he thought about it.
Yeah, Snake eyes, ain't that the truth.  I can think of several muzzleloaders that I have sold over the years and a couple of cars that I wish had not parted ways with.  Sure wish I still had my first Renegade and my 66 GTO.  I think those two items I miss the most.

Here I am.  Sorry for flying the coop.  The Ruger Old Army shoots great.  It is accurate, and it's fun to shoot.  I like it better than my Pietta revolvers.  Next time I go to the shooting range, I plan on shooting it again.  I like it a lot!
