Beautiful!  What kind of bone did you use?  The reason I ask is that I have a Marbles Cowboy knife with camel bone slabs and I've always wondered if they used camel bone because it's more dense than say, cow bone or if it was just more abundant for some reason or another.  I bought it before mad cow disease so cow bone must have been available.

Bull, I use cow bone.
A lot of makers use camel bone, It could be a little more dense or could be that it takes stain better. Most of the camel bone at the knife supply house has been stabilized, I really don't know the answer to that due to the fact that I have never used it. It should be better judging by the price!

Hmmm, maybe there is a difference but I always wondered about that.  Anyway, love the file work too, you did good!

I think it is thicker, Larger, Less pith, therefore easier to get a good flat slab from it. It could very well be denser also.
That would be my guess, Maybe LRB or someone that has worked with it will chime in.

Now that is a knife that I could wear and use with no problem.  The sheath is finely executed too.  Very nice and excellent job all way around!!
