Finished these arm guards over the weekend

(1/2) > >>

Darren Haverstick:
I finished these arm guards Saturday for a couple of friends. Now I get to make something for myself!

Both have a backing of vegetable tanned cowhide. The one on the left has a facing made from elephant ear leather and deer hide trim. The one on the right has a shark skin facing with elk hide trim. Both arrowheads are made from ostrich leg skin. I carved the lace hooks out of deer antler and sewed everything up by hand using B-50 bowstring material and artificial sinew. I sewed in a little extra mojo into each of them to bring these guys success this fall.

Ohio Joe:
Very nice, Darren! You have a great knack for leather working!  :toast :hairy

SharpStick:
Darren!
Can I be your friend too?  :laughing  Seems you are always making great stuff "for a friend".

In these postings I see what you create and it motivates me to pull out the leatherworking tools and inspires me with possibilities.
I just gotta give a big  :hairy for sharing with us.

Winter Hawk:
Nice!  :bow

Uncle Russ:
Darren, can you sew me a little something? Something like..... '

What in the world are those things?

Looks to be wood, possibly mahogany, but it could well be stone with Marine Varnish, I don't know, have no clue in fact.
But I do like 'em. And I like the thought of a little Mojo to help bring on success.
