Jim,

The inscription on the barrel is E or I (I can't decide from the script used.  I'll see if I can't get a picture of it.) B. Miller 1997.

For the rest o' y'all...  ;-)

She shoots as good as she looks which means that if'n I miss it's mah own durn fault.

I'm usin' .600 round ball, .015 patch and I'm still workin' on the load I'm thinkin' I'll settle on about 70 grains FFF.

The barrel looks to be swamped which surprised me as I've never heard of a smoothie bein' swamped...

She just floats to the shoulder and is rock on (or at least as stable as I am...).

I've only had her out twice so far, but the rifles are gonna be jealous of this one as I'll be shootin' her a lot in the comin' months.

Lookin good ! Its only my opinion , but I believe there were many more smoothbores being used then rifles by the average settler.

Smoothie barrels of the roundish persuasion can indeed be swamped. My New England fowling piece has a 20ga x 44" Getz barrel that is swamped. It was built for me in1986 by Joe Gondek.

Howdy Kermit,

I'm not sure what the make of the barrel is, but it's an octagon to round configuration.
