I have been shooting muzzle loaders for about 20 years mostly to extend my Deer season here in N.E Iowa. not real knowledgeable about all the different rifle types. I have a CVA 50 cal Hawken that has given me Venison every year since I got it. I also have a Hopkins & Allen 36 cal under hammer that is my go to tree rat getter, when your old it really isn't how many you get it is about how you get them
I retired from the Marines in 1991 and found a 40 acre patch of woods in the hinter lands of N.E. Iowa not far from the Mississippi river, got a good wife and 4 kids and 9 grandkids and a great Dog named Jack who likes to wander the woods with me Life is good. When I meet the good Lord I thank for all my blessing
Hope to get some good skinny from you all

Under hammers are something we don't often hear about around here, and also something I've never personally owned. So tell us some more about that sweet little girl. :)

Hey Walt!
Semper Fi, my friend. Great to have ya aboard. Nice to have another fellow Gyrine in the mix. You will find this group a good bunch of straight shooting folks who are passionate about smokepoles and everything associated with them. Don't hesitate to add a couple of cents to the conversation whenever you have a hankering.
