Title: Bear Jaw Knives
Post by: Buffler Razz on January 02, 2010, 07:05:47 PM
Here are a couple I just completed. I promised these a while back to some friends. Handles are bear jaws stained with strong tea, blades are 440C stainless. One of the guys wanted his on a stand, the other fitted with a sheath. Now that they are done I can get to work on building my smoothbore!

Buffler Razz,
I have one, black bear jaw, handle rough but nice!
SS blade, gut hook at end. Came with a black bear skin sheath.
I have had it for 5 or 6 years and honestly don't remember where
I got it.Don't know how to post photos on the TMA site, but
Mrs snake- eyes  can send them to your e-mail.
Let me know.I'll send them to you,and maybe you can post them
here.It is a unique knife.

Yes, the sheath has a raw hide liner, those tool steel blades are tough and SHARP! The jaws came off a 400lb boar I got with my Brown Bess back in '88. Guy's I was hunting with thought I was nuts, no back up pistol either, lookin' back on it now, I was nuts!!

You boys have some darn nice jaw bone knives there. I'll bet the two men will be tickled pink to get them Buffler Razz. I know I sure would be.
