I just happened across this video of a short barreled "rifle / pistol" that the barrel itself is only the length of a pistol barrel... I think I'm going to restock one of my Pedersoli .45 pistols (9-1/2" barrel) - into a shoulder muzzle-loading firearm... Maybe I'll actually be able to hit something with it.

How about just a shoulder stock like was available for some of the BP revolvers? You would need to find a way to wed it to the existing stock, but then you could have a pistol andshort barreled rifle in one....

I thought about that, but not really interested in taking the adaptor route. Although, it's a good alternative, and who knows, I may go that route? At this point, it'll be a while before I actually do anything. I need some nice weather to motivate me... :laffing

Me too on the weather. We had some rain this morning, but it was only enough to spot the windshield of the car. At this point, though, we can use every drop we get.
I have a bit of inletting to do. I thought I was going to get it done today, but it will hold for another day. Hope I get it done before I run out of days.

I was looking around in my workshop, and heck - I have an old Junker barrel (.45) that I could cut down to (say 14 inches) and use an old Lyman GPR Flintlock I bought from Rob some years back - and I think I have enough (other parts) just to make a build out of them. I think I might just go that route? Now I need to wrestle with the barrel length; 14 / 16 / 18 inches??? I think it would make a fun little build. Probably wouldn't use it for much more than a conversation piece at Rendezvous... :shake

Hey Joe, that was really interesting. You ought to do a dual build. After you adapt your pistol barrel to a shoulder arm, like the one in the video, why not mount a rifle barrel on the pistol stock. You'll have a super duper Buntline special! :lol sign Seriously, it would be a real hoot to have and shoot a gun as shown in that video.

Well, it's getting workshop weather - so I'll do a bit more studying on this. Nice thing is that I wouldn't have to barrel channel much. :bl th up
