Title: experience with Taylor's&co.??

Anybody familar with these?? there's not much info on barrel make and twist ratios on them. I've never heard of them (which doesn't mean anything) But the prices seem sort of low.

I'm not sure about the rifles,... but the LePage duelling pistol looks identical to the one I had, and it was made by Armi Sport in Italy.
That pistol was definitely the most accurate pistol I ever owned, it shot like a rifle.  :shock: ,... and the very same pistol from Dixie Gun Works is priced at $425.00.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help with info regarding the rifles.

no Prob RB. I just ran across them on a site last nite and was curious. I've never heard of them and didn;t know if they were a decent gun, a cheap rendition or even in business anymore.

Taylor's and Co. is a good reputable outfit.  I don't live too far from their warehouse.  I've bought cap and ball pistols and cartridge guns from them for CAS but have no experience with their items on the page you provided.

I got a bad rifle from them once and they replaced it after trying to fix it several times.

From what I have seen on the auction sites, they look like an importer of Spanish and Italian arms.  I don't know what imports are running these days but they look a little on the pricey side for what you get.

Reason I was asking is the october somethin another site had a kentucky that to me seemed real cheap. And it wasn't giving a decent pic of the rifle big enough to get a real good look at.

No biggie really. they aint have the caliber I was wanting anyway.

Taylor and company is headed up by two mighty savvy gals.  I have always gotten along pretty good with them.
As was said, they import from various manufacturers, Pedersoli, Pietta, etc.
When everyone is selling the same stuff, the difference is price and service.  They are better known in the Cowboy and Civil War circles than trad muzzleloading.  I think their prices are OK and their service is pretty good.  If I were in the market for something, I'd give them a looksee.
And since the Euro went nuts, European goods are just stupid priced.

Yep, Bigsmoke, it's been that way for five or six years now...as long the dollar continues to fall, the more stupid those European goods are going to get....it goes from stupid, to real stupid, to stupider even yet.

Lymans GPR is a prime example....same gun, made at the same factory, for years on end, and the price is three times that what it was just a couple of years back.

(Foreign inflation coupled with currency deflation and increased tariffs enabled to slow the flow of imports, really hurts when there is not a comparable product made in the US.)
