Howdy all,
I would like to get started into primitive archery. I have shot a bow before and hunted with one, but that was about 28 years ago.
I don't want anything fancy, and I want all my equipment to be period correct and rendezvous acceptable. I'm just not sure where to begin, like some good advice. Thanks, Chuck

Do you want something that you can hunt with or just shoot at Rendezvous? Fletcher can fix you up, he should be along shortly.

Yep, cant beat Fletchers bows or arrows, been shooting them for a couple years here, no problems!

I would like something I can hunt with as well.

Fletcher can work something up for you, I'm sure! I am trading and selling some osage orange bow staves to him for a bow. I have no clue when it comes to bows so this is going to be a learning experience for me. My first bow.

Send me a pm. What is the minimum draw weight for huntng in your state?
You can't beat Osage, but I also have bows that are not as expensive. I do have a bamboo backed Osage longbow ready to go to the Trade Show, but a TMA member could have it if they want it.
If you want one bow, I reccomend a draw weight that you can legally hunt with, but light enouigh you could shoot a Rondy course of 20 or 30 arrows over an hour or two.
e.g. a 45 to 48 # longbow that would be smooth on the draw.
