« on: November 18, 2012, 10:28:10 PM »
Riflemans knife & sheath made from a long mill file.  Blade is 10 1/2".  Handle is elk antler with poured pewter bolster & cap ( I know no pewter trimed knifies have been found)  steel guard as a scrolled flint trigger.....but i like it...........Tom

Tennessee Toothpic and Arkansas Toothpic, heard both terms, interchangeable,  quite often over the years and always wondered, but never wanted to show my ignorance by asking, but here it comes......

Is there a difference, and what is that difference?  :Doh!

BTW: That puppy looks like it will reach out and touch.

don't know nothing about Arkansas tooth-pic's, But 200 years ago most "over mountain men" carried a long knife & hawk along with their rifle.  My family is gen-u-wine smokie mt. hillbillys.  Been in those mt. since before the war.  (Rev. war) ask one a them razorbaks.........Tom
