BPB, Neither the NYSMLA nor local BP shoots were mentioned in the Kingston Freeman, our local paper.  One of the former members of our club, who has since relocated, was a member of the NYSMLA, which is how I learned of it.  Unfortunately, the corresponding secretaries of [northern] Ulster Co. ML clubs never (really!) submit local shoot dates and locations to the aforementioned newspaper, which will gladly publish them.

Maven,
Doesn't Bob Patterson live in that area? It is a shame many NY ML associations will not send out shoot invites. Actually IMO it is a crime against the sport. They are not fulfilling their fiduciary responsibilities by sitting a the big table keeping all the cookies for themselves.

For years NYSMAL had the Battle on Snowshoes but no one wanted to step up and run it once a few guys couldn't make it.

At one time I had a email list of probably a hundred news papers across the state. Some of the papers would send me a note now and then asking if we had anything planned.

Now that Vicky Fullington has passed this last Fall the web site may never get updated. She and Dan Fullington the newest NYSMAL Pres did much work to get the annual shoots located down state.
Tim Welch Past officer died in Dec. 2016 he was from Elbridge.
"Seadog" Wayne Seaburg just passed on Jan1 2017 he was another vendor and director and long time member.

I actually went out looking for places and events to shoot at. Tracked down phone numbers and names.

Now here in GA , especially this place is like a ghost town for ML'er shoots. I did my part for over 30 years running shoots attending meetings calling fund raising.
I'd like to shoot in competition but am reserved to shoot at a range by myself most of the time.

bpb, I don't know Bob Patterson, but Jack Patterson (builder, shooter) lives in Croghan. I met him through my now relocated friend, Rich/Rocky Rockwell*.  As for places to shoot, i.e., woods walks, we have plenty, but you have to attend one to get a schedule for 2017.  Not to worry as I have names telephone numbers.

*He was the NYSMLA I mentioned earlier.

Hello Thunderhawk1828,

I saw a video on youtube not so long ago of a club in Arizona shooting at a rather large field of metal gongs and silhouettes (which looked to be tons of fun :hairy
