A few of my winter projects
« on: March 04, 2019, 10:29:15 PM »
Here are some of the projects I did this winter,.......

I made some pewter molds (not shown)
Cast some pewter Hudson Bay medallions (large and small)
Cast some pewter buttons (large and small)
Cast some pewter Jefferson Peace Medals
Made a brain tanned gun sheath for my Northwest Trade Gun
Made a couple of brain tanned Apache-style arrow quivers (one not shown)
Made a rawhide neck knife sheath with leather insert
Repaired the handle on my neck knife with a rawhide wrap
Made a couple of buffalo powder horns (one not shown)
Made a couple of Inkle Looms (one not shown)
Made a couple of pistol shoulder slings (one not shown)
Made some shot and ball pouches
Made a couple of shooting bags
Made a rawhide re-enforced horn to carry bulk "shot"

Still gotta make some river cane powder measures
Still gotta make some Micarta (fake ivory) powder measures
Still have a bunch of round balls to cast
Still have 3 more powder horns to finish

Hopefully by the time I get the things I need to do, DONE,... the weather will have warmed up to something approaching "NORMAL":laffing

At my age, I'm sure I've forgotten some more things I need to do before RENDEZVOUS!  :*:

OH yeah :Doh!,.... I've still got some canvas "flies" to make.  :laffing

I would say a busy beaver... :toast

Those medallions (as does all the items on the table) look really - really nice for sure!  I expect none of that plunder will be on the trade blanket for long once you get to Rondy!  :hairy

Really nice.  If your are going to give stuff away I like the shoulder pistol holder but when you send it to me leave the pistol in it.   :lol sign  Seriously nice work.   :hairy

:laffing I'd hate to break up the happy marriage of that Trade Pistol and my Northwest Trade Gun.  ;)

You got yerself some dead serious plunder there!

I've known ya fer years now, and yer skills and time to do "stuff" never ceases to amaze this old boy.
I'm still kinda sorry ya got rid of Molly, she was a good ol'Mule don'tcha know.
Me and brother Al would've split her between us.....somehow??

Great work, my friend.

I guess one could say that I have also been pretty busy this winter.
Since just after Christmas my major project has been shoveling snow, in fact, I'm still at it.  :P

My daughter has helped, thankfully, but when she goes to work in the morning, my "shift" starts, and the pay really sucks.

I can't wait until it's time I can get over this really bad case of Cabin Fever I'm suffering from.....got it bad this time.
Right now, there is nothing I would like better than to slap some sense in that dadburn lying Groundhog.

Rondo, how about I ship you a couple rail cars full of Snowmen?
Some assembly would be required, of course.
But you could dwindle away hours on end puttin 'em all together.
