Picked up a coffee pot, boiling pot, tin plate and wash basin from Bob's Backwoods Tin the other day.

Nice!  Bob makes quality stuff.  I am waiting for two boilers I ordered recently.

Add about two weeks to the promised delivery date.  Don't get me wrong as I'm not complaining, this is quality stuff but you can tell Bob is perfectionist.  I just ordered some dried edibles for the upcoming hunting season where I'll be using these items to cook meals in.

Which size boiler did you get?

I got the "corn boiler" pot which holds 6 cups at 5 1/2 X 4 1/2.  The coffee pot is the small size at 4 cups.

Nice.  I ordered that same one and the small corn boiler which holds 3 1/2 cups.

I already have a 24 cup coffee pot and a 1 gallon boiler.

Wow!  You either like your coffee or are cooking for a troop of boy scouts.

I have a few of Bob boilers and cups... wouldn't trade them for anything.

Really like the insulated mug.

Might anyone know if copper or tin plate would have been more common in the 1760's and 1770's?

I'm going to hazard a guess that it would have been tin plate due to availability and cost.  I don't know of any reference as to which one was the standard of the time though, so take this for what it is, just a guess.
