Laundry lint / wadding (not seriously)
« on: January 01, 2019, 09:39:02 AM »
What do you guys think about laundry lint as wadding in a smoothbore? Kind'a like to get this cleared up before Two Steps starts going around the neighborhood picking lint out'a the outside dryer vents.... :shake :toast

Aw come on Joe...you know I only use that in my fire starter kit and sometimes with my 1st aid stuff.  Never tried it for wadding.  Might want to be careful in dry conditions...that lint will hold and carry a spark.
Oh, BTW, you don't have to worry about me picking lint in your neighborhood for a while...I'm sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee right now...don't think I could do that at your place  :*:  Ol Al doesn't do cold if he doesn't have to!  8)

Wouldn't  that be like using a rayon patch on a round ball? No telling what kind of fiber in the lint.
I'm  not  H/C or P/C or even a particularly  good shot but I have a hell of a good time!

It would be, so I wouldn't recommend it... I wasn't serious about using dryer lint. Sorry about that... Just having a'little New Years fun at the campfire. I added a notation in the topic. :shake

Al, ya shouldn't have campfires on yer Deck at night, don'tcha know nothing!

Seems to me that "Lint" may be one of the major ingredients in fire starter kits here in this neck of the woods.
A bit of char, on a bed of lint, is for sure a "quick starter"....even I can manage that, at times.  lol
I'm not sure about that wadding, but if a quick handful of grass or a crumbled up large leaf will do the trick, then why not?

If I'm not badly mistaken it was our friend "Tacks" that kinda coached me and a few others through our first lint fire, right here on this forum.

Russ...
