But with the recent broken leg and all, I cannot wear moccasins much except around camp (and the house). I have purchased a pair of "looks ok at 27 feet. Maybe." chukka style shoes (Hush Puppies?) that look like rough out hide. They are a neutral tan color. Should they be black, dark brown, reddish brown...???
I know they would not pass a juried event, I just want to be able to walk around Kalamazoo on Saturday and not be all crippled up on Sunday. How can I make them, er, less conspicuous?
Also what should they be tied up with? Or should I retro-fit some buckles?

Don't worry about it. If it really bothers you to not be PC, I put carbon fiber orthodic's and Dr. Scholl's Jellin' insert's in my Moc's. Can't see 'em and I have "Happy Feet"!

how about some low hanging legging. that may camaflage those "puppies"

In all honesty Rick, I wouldn't worry about it. I see lots of folks wearing modern shoes at the event. That's a lot of walking, all day on a hard concrete floor. Your health is more important that wearing mocs believe me. When your working the booth, no one can see your feet anyway, so again, I would not worry about it.

How about some bell bottom pants? Pinstriped. Nobody will pay any attention to your shoes, gaurenteed.

Path...I have some of those too...just waiting for them to come back into style, or as you say, we start re-enacting that era!
Thanks for the comments.

I had a blue and white striped pair from 1969. I bet you guys don't fit in them though.
