Title: The "rebirth" of an old blade and the start of a new horn
Post by: shootrj2003 on May 20, 2011, 02:00:26 PM
Brought these both about with a" Native American" style so I thought to show them together even though the horn is not finished[right now I've got" Horner's Block"so I need time to think before I finish it!]

I showed the knife's original, somewhat scruffy character,as a potentially  dangerous carving knife that was a bit too fierce to hang out with the guys in the kitchen drawer[ being double edged] in another post, but here he is again

thanks for the complements, the blade is exactly 6 5/8 th's inches long,OAL is 10 1/2 in. long.Originally I was considering a more English or Scottish dirk type sheath but I decided to go native. It is my first succesful bone slab  handle,I tryed a couple other times but the bone broke at the final riveting both times,I figured after a while that I would try agin'ya just csn't be too careful riveting bone, especially thin bone.
