Title: Scottish All Steel Pistols
Post by: Militarymanmilitaria on May 14, 2013, 01:58:06 PM
May seem strange for an Englishman to be asking Americans about Highland Regiment Flintlock pistols but I know you guys have a few of the HRH military pistols over there.  I'm trying to research and study these weapons and would be interested to hear from anyone with pistols made by Bissell etc or any Scottish pistols at all.
Regards

Isaac Bissell was a Birmingham Gunmaker who made Scottish Pistols  some were engraved R.H.R  for the Royal  Highland Regiment, if you can aquire the book Scottish Pistols by Martin  Kelvin page 132 , 148 there is a write up of Bissell

Hello, hope you receive this message, I have placed an order for Kelvin.  I have seen odd military pistols for sale (one on West Street Antiques at the moment) but wouldn't know a) if they are genuine and b) what the price should be.  Would like to keep in touch with you if possible.
Regards
Roy

Thank's for that, I bought a part made kit  for £75 a while ago which I must admit will make a reasonable looking item but I have always wanted a real one.
Please advise me if I am messaging you the correct way or if there is a system for direct contact.
Regards
Roy
