I just finished this for a friend of mine. The bowl and handle wrap are the gun barrel, the blade is harder steel I welded in and the handle is curly maple.

Great looking pipe. I put an antler tip plug on the front end. Course the blade is one I bought.

guys , let me say that the hawks is very , Very Nice. fantastic workmanship and wonderfuly finished . add into all that , it smokes wonderfuly .

i have owned many pipe hawks through the years and Never had one this nice
what he didnt tell you was that he hand forged it

The barrel is 54 cal. If anyone's interested, I do make these and other types of hawks (spike, poll etc), on comission, either my design or to spec's. If you're interested in one, or some other blacksmith work, please PM me. Roland
