This is my Lancaster .50 cal. Flintlock I built.
.50 Cal Swamped Rice Barrel 44 Inchs Long
Jim Chambers Golden Age lock,
L&R Double set Triggers
Curly maple Stock from Gunstocks Plus
I made the End Cap and Side Plate
I worked on this gun every Sunday for a year to complete
Stained with Aqua-Fortis, heated and applied Colonial Red Stain with 10 coats of hand rubbed Wahkon Bay tru-Coat.
Barrel is Browned.
Frt. Sight is made from a 1947 Silver Quarter I saved for over 30 years from one of the last guns I made in 1982
Rear sight I cut from a chunk of metal
This rifle shoots awesome, still working on loads, but it'll hit what ever I aim at .
My wife shot this gun, her first time shooting a Flintlock and hit the Big Blue welding tank gong at the Primitive range at Friendship.
thanks for looking
