my wife got me a 13 inch x .54 cal Swamped Pistol Barrel from Jim Chambers for Christmas
I got my stock blank from Muzzleloader Supply 90-100 % curl
a Small Siler Flintlock from TOW
This is my first attempt at a pistol build, looking forward to the challenge
I ordered Mike Millers dvd , should be here tomorrow.

Good choice on parts, it'll help a lot to draw up a full scale plan--so everything fits where it's supposed to. good luck...
-
With a name like Tom Sawyer I don't anticipate any problems.
Good luck Tom, we're all with you on this............keep us posted, okay?

This is my first attempt inletting a swamped barrel, or any barrel so I'll be going slow.

I got the barrel and tang inletted , ramrod hole drilled, ready for the next step!

I have the barrel pinned in place and the lock inletted.
Going to start making a single trigger and plate next.

Your doing a grate job on her Tom.
-
You do truly fine work; obviously you have a talent for gun building.
-
Nice build!

I'm browning the barrel after draw filing and sanding.
I made the frt and rear sights, left them tall for sighting in.
Used Wah-kon Bay Tru-Brown, I used it on my Flintlock rifle and loved the results, very nice antique brown.
I used Wah-Kon Bay Aqua-Fortis for the stock, after the heat was applied I put a good coat of Homler Dangler's Colonial Red Stain and started
rubbing in the Wah-Kon Bay Tru Coat.

Nice!

You are doing a fine job TS.
I like the modifications to your vise. I'm looking at possibly getting a vise like yours, How would you rate it ?
Jack

I love the vise, very nice to work on stocks,
I would rate it very high.
-
I spent some time today and polished the lock
-
Almost finished, still have a few coats of Tru-Coat to apply,
it's time to cast some round ball and proof test the barrel.
I had a couple issues near the end of sanding , sanded thru near barrel on left side , decided to finish it as is , I'll repair later.
can't wait to fire it.
