That's just wrong, Riley...

How can people be that hateful. Recon ridjrunner would send me a similar package iffin I said "please"?
-
Syrupin' was CRAZY this year (again)! We thought we were about done 3 weeks ago after collecting 410 gallons of sap (our average is roughly 1200). Everything shut down with the warm temps, but we hoped there would be another freeze before the buds open. Well about 2 weeks ago our wish came true. we gathered another 850 gallons in just a couple-three days! problem is it started warming up again, and we had no snow to keep the sap cool! So we boiled whenever we could, finally got the last of it done this weekend. We still have to finish it all in the house, but it is basically all syrup now...
Now about that box....

Thats IT !!! he sent you a box ??? Maybe you should open it--might be something in there ????

I don't know. He's got it all screwed shut. It looks like he wanted people to stay out.....
-
Forward it on to me,.... I've got a screwdriver!
-
I know ya got some gunpowder so just blow it open.
-
Ya know, sometimes I wait until New Year's Eve to open my Christmas presents.....
-
I had a girlfriend like that for a short time.
-
Finally broke into that box this morning. Lo & behold there was some stuff in there! Looks like some 12 ga. wads and some bubble wrap....
inside the box.jpg[/attachment:3qh4mi2m]
Now it looks like there could be sumthin inside them bubbles. I will have to check when I get home, if I get a chance.

Take it off!!! Take it off!! Heck, Uncle Russ will slide a dollar in there somewhere
-
Somehow, I messed up...was just trying to quote and add a LOL...didn't come out that way...???
(OK, I think I accidentally hit edit instead of quote, sorry...I'm outta control)

HA - Well I found out I gotta haul Scouts, and the Scout trailer this weekend. The trailer wiring on my old Jeep is in tough shape, so I went out and worked on it (in the rain) last night. About 10:30 in the pee em, I got frustrated enough that I tore the whole works out. So tonight I will wire the Jeep, load the trailer, and pack up for a weekend of camping. I am not sure when I will get the next layer of wrapping unwrapped.....
-
Riley, Mike Fink also needs done now :peace
However, you wait too long them gobblers are gonna be laughin instead of gettin cooked
-
If'in that pilgrim ain't already opened that package he ain't natural. Somethin' wrong here.
Storm
-
Heck, might as well just put the whole thing in the barn and let it sit in there a few years, or more...
-
Since you have little interest in the gun you might as well ship it to me. I love them and will shoot and care for it like it deserves.
-

GUN?? You guys think there might be a gun in there?
-
GUN?? You guys think there might be a gun in there
Well...From the looks of the box...plus what ridjrunner posted...it's either a gun or the worlds biggest wing bone call!
Al
-
Whatever's in that package I'll take it!

After due consideration, I conclude yer weird, Riley...

I really wasn't shure if I should let cat out of the bag or not, being as though I am not shure if I had sent Mr President pictures of said smoothbore.
So I will keep them to a minumum just in case. This is during the "build".
No breech plug and the makers marks weren't filed off yet.
I tried to show the inside of the muzzle as "smooth", but the flash may hinder this.
The muzzle protector and barrel bands are from the Possum Lodge in Canada, perhaps a few are familiar with this,it's kind of universal.
Hope ya'll enjoy the sneak peek. :toast

Ridjrunr
:hairy
ridj, can you tell me the pressure specs on that bbl?
-
Manufactory says 200 psi water at 73 deg.F,so they must test with water. ( strange)
I do believe however, that the barrel bands increase this to the point of catastrophic failure, plus a little.
Good luck.
-
Evidently the "Wise Guy" factor has increased by 100 % mean--just plain mean. This is in violation of the Geneva convention on unusual punishment and or torture of non-combatants...REALLY....Tom
-
Hey, I unwrapped that package from Dan, and that ain't the gun that's in there at all!
-
Dangblast it this just ain't right!
Cruel, unusual, and flat out mean hearted.
Dontcha dare make me come over there!

Come on! Don't cop out on us now. I made a reasonable (to me, anyway) offer. Pony up or call the honey wagon.
-
I confess, I still haven't shot this gun. Except with my camera

MN has over the counter tags for the last several seasons. I picked one up for the last season, running 5/23-5/29. There may be hope for me yet.... (plus I gotta shoot a cup off'n that dude's head...)
-
Mighty fine looking gun! Guess I'll have to turn around and ride this mule south now. Made it almost to Dallas.
Storm

-
Just for clarification, this lil gal is still on loan/speculation from ridjrunnr. I need to take her out to see how we get along. This darn work week shure cuts inta a guy's courtin time....
-
Oh, so now you are going to tease us by suggesting that one of US might get to buy her if you don't get along!
Storm

Storm, I have always heard that "It's the prettiest girls that's the hardest to please", if that should hold true then I would suspect this pretty girl is going to drive him completely nuts!
Patience grasshopper, patience.
We may still have a chance, plus we may not have to ride that dadburn Mule to the hangin!
Uncle Russ...
-
Russ,
This man is a hardcase. Just plain mean! Have you noticed that he hasn't even told us any vital statistics yet? Wants to dribble that information out a little at a time too.
Storm
-
Well, I went ahead and bought the thing, even though I didn't get a gobbler in close enough to try it out. She's a 37" long 12 bore, and ridjrunr couldn't tell me who built it. The lock is marked Lott, & Dan said it was marketed by Pedersoli a few years back. The half-cock notch does not work as a half-cock safety, which I hope to get worked on. Am trying to decide whether to send the barrel off to get jug-choked or not...
Dan said it don't shoot balls for beans, but I hope to try it at some point anyway....
-
Well, it's about danged time you fessed up and told us the details!
Storm
-

I been busy tryin ta connect with a gobbler. I have never hunted this late in the season. I called in hens left & right, but the toms stood out in the middle of the fields and gobbled. They nailed me from a 1/4 mile out.....
-
Wishing you the best of luck next season! Turkeys are smart and have incredible vision. There's an old saying that goes "Deer think every hunter is a tree. Turkey think every tree is a hunter." That has proven to be true in my experience.
