Title: Browning a Tempered Lock?
Post by: Hood on July 21, 2014, 12:45:21 PM
I am browning all the furniture and barrel from my Thompson Center Hawken.

So I was thinking I would naturally want to do the lock as it probably wouldn't look right if I didn't brown it as well.

Then I got to wondering, will the browning take since it has the tempered look to it? The plan is to sandblast all the parts.

Any thoughts?

Thanks again for all the help.

I think those are dyed, not tempered.  I've drilled new holes in a number of them with no problems, didn't burn up a bit.  Go ahead....Tom
