I almost hate to post this project. 8 bore rifle, yes 8 bore, .829 diameter rifled barrel 32" tapered octagon from my friends at - The Gun Works Muzzleloading Emporium - (http://www.thegunworks.com) Davis Ron Long designed "English" lock, Bastone' walnut blank in late perc. period. Starting stock shaping and final assembly...click on pic to see few more---thats a .58 cal ball in it's mouth....MAGNUMITIS....for buffalo/Griz.....Old dog gunmaker....Tom

I guess that's one way to lighten it up. Fraid I'm a little too old and feeble to be shootin that big old hog.

Tom is working on your kind of gun. Should be a barn-burner for sure, maybe even a bit more. Would certainly keep the Pachyderms out of your garden spot.
I've shot the rifled .72, the one that Mike got from you, and it was comfortable even with the PRB and 130gr FFg. which was his "target" load, if I remember correctly.
I have to imagine this big boy just might get your attention, but I would like nothing better than giving it a try or three.
