Title: how authentic of design are these pants
Post by: Lonewolfe20 on March 14, 2016, 11:28:49 PM
I found these pants on eBay and took a photo of them
I wondered how authentic of design these were
the description says the trapper would be able to roll up the wool bottoms when they went into the water
I have not seen another pair like this

I believe they did use pants with wool blanket bottoms.  Not so sure about the roll them up part, I always figured it was to repair worn trousers.
But, remember, I am certainly not much on HC/PC, so don't make bank on anything I say regarding this sort of stuff.  Want to talk about big bore muzzleloaders or making a powder horn, I'm your guy.  Styles of clothes, thread counts, etc., not so much.
Personally, those trousers don't really do a lot for me.

I would balk at the belt loops, and the fly style.  They also appear to have messed up a point blanket with the wool, instead of using a plain blanket of white dyed brown, or an indigo blanket.  These look to be more of a "concept" garment, rather than one copied from an actual source.  (imho)
