Post by: Lonewolfe20 on December 19, 2016, 10:25:11 PM

I inherited it from a really close friend
The family found it in some of his belongings and gave it to me
It was in a David Pedersoli bag

Looks like it might be a lock off of a Pedersoli "Blue Ridge" rifle, or their "Frontier" rifle,... both of which (I think) are the exact same gun.   :rt th

I just finished going through my Track of the Wolf Catalog from 1998-2000 and can find nothing that matches the picture posted. Also checked their website and could find nothing that matched there.

I found a picture of the Pedersoli Frontier/Blue Ridge rifle here,....
Pedersoli Blue Ridge Flintlock Rifles : Cabela's (http://www.cabelas.com/product/Pedersoli-Blue-Ridge-Flintlock-Rifles/1608552.uts)

You can "click" to enlarge the picture, and also "ZOOM IN" to get a good look at the lock.  :rt th

Maybe something like Track's "Jacob Dickert" kit, if you can get it without a pre-carved lock mortise.

American longrifle: Jacob Dickert - Lancaster, Pennsylvania - Track of the Wolf  (https://www.trackofthewolf.com/List/Item.aspx/595/1)

If you had a Track Of the Wolf catalog, you could compare your Pedersoli lock to a Large Siler Lock, to see if they'd interchange.
That way if anything ever happened to your Pedersoli lock and it needed replaced, you could just drop a "Large Siler" in, drill for new lock-bolt, and you'd be back in business.

Which reminds me,... those lock-bolt threads in your Pedersoli lock, are "METRIC".  :rt th

Also,.... if you feel a bit intimidated about inletting the kit's patch box, you don't HAVE to put a patch box on the rifle, just because Track lists it among their parts.
Track'll also "breech" the barrel for you, as well as cut dove-tails for sights and under-lugs,... all for an additional price of course.
Track's "kits" ain't really "KITS" when compared to such kits as Lyman, CVA, Traditions, and etc.,.... Track's kits are more a "compilation of domestic-made parts" that you can build a very fine gun out of.

Could a guy drill and tap in standard threads on that lock or would that be tough
But with that info I know to hunt for metrics
I'll get on their website and look at that rifle
I've been busy streching leather

If it were me,... I'd probably plug the existing hole, and "drill and tap" for a 10-32 lock bolt.  :rt th
