Title: Sharon barrel quality

I have been offered a Sharon barrel in 32 caliber and I was wondering about quality
I have searched online but mixed results
Just wondered what you guys thought of them and what a good price would be on it

Price?  Not a clue.
I have had a coupe of rifles with Sharron Barrels of a more substantial bore size that shot just fine.  No idea how they were in the smaller bore sizes.  Would seriously doubt if there would be any difference.
Hal Sharon seemed to know what he was doing making barrels.
I visited the plant there in Kallispel, MT once when I was thinking about distributing his rifles and barrels;  everything looked to be running smoothly.  At least, until it wasn't there anymore.
As an aside, most of the tooling, etc. that was a part of the California Barrel Company (Sharron's last venture in barrels) is in use at the Oregon Rifle Barrel Company in Springfield, OR.  I have used a few of their 8 bore and 4 bore barrels and they shot great!!  Two thumbs up.
Of course, like everything, YMMV.
Bottom line is that if I were in the market for a small bore build, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the barrel, unless the price was just ridiculous.

He said 150-175 for the barrel
And not pricing anyout anywhere else
I thought I would ask you guys before I spent hours compare shopping
If the quality was no good in Sharron

I've always heard only good things about Sharon barrels.

If memory serves, and correct me if I'm wrong,,, (any body),,, I believe the Green River Hawken Rifle was known for their Sharon Barrel they came with.

I don't think so, Joe.  Seems like they were two different items.  GRRW guns came with GRRW barrels.  Sharron Rifles came with Sharon Barrels.
Wasn't much mixing and matching going on between them.

Ohio Joe: I have 2 GRRW barrels. They are stamped GRRW. I used to know some of the guys from there and I thought they made their own barrels. They had a good reputation but needed some break in. I just lapped mine . They were also choke bored. They made a custom barrel for me to replace the junk barrel on my harper's ferry. They did all the exterior machining. So , did they use sharon barrels, could be they bought blanks from them. Us Utahns always assumed Doc White made his own.

Bigsmoke, perhaps in another thread, you could tell us what you know about the early T/C Hawken, and the different barrels, including Sharon, Douglas, and GRRW that was contracted by T/C back in the early days.....say, late 1969 until around 1977....

Information of this kind is very to find in print, but for someone who was there and did that at the time, in a position such as yourself, would be quite helpful for those still clinging to their old T/C's.

I know a little of that history, but at that particular time in my life I had a lot of other things on my mind as I was still on Active Duty.

An article on the GRRW site discusses the Sharon Rifle Barrel Company. I have a Sharon Trade Rifle which shoots fine. I am fairly new to ML shooting so take what I say with a grain of salt.
