Title: newbie with question about powder transport safety

Not wanting to be too anal, but what are some ways that you experienced shooters transport your powder, in your cars, when going to the range? I know about the recommended ways to store the powder but my concern is safety while driving with it.  I'm thinking that a six-pack cooler, sans ice, would keep a flask or two of main charge powder and a pill bottle of 4F dry, but cool, and insulated from summer heat. How do you guys do it?

I just keep my horn of powder in a pack with the rest of my shooting supplies usually with a towel wrapped around it to cushion it somewhat. I don't think the powder is too volatile, although obviously you want to take normal care of it, as it is an explosive.

Maybe familiarity breeds contempt?
I just don't get too terribly concerned with it.  Usually have a box of stuff like round ball, patches, cleaning solvent, etc.  I put a can or so of Ffg in the box and off I go.  End of story.  It's worked for me for 40 some years, see no reason why it should stop working now.

I'm in agreement with John,... I don't do anything special when transporting BP.
I've always figured hauling the stuff around in a car, or truck, has to be an "easy ride" for it,... when compared to hauling it on horseback, or in a wagon, as our ancestors did in the past.

I carry mine in my range bag along with all my "stuff" stored safely in the car trunk.
