Well, RollingB and I made it through the Rondy at Chadron Fur Trade Days. Here's some pictures. It was good times!

RollingB & his lovely wife Beth. It was sure a touch of home visiting with them both. Fine folks for sure! :bl th up

Me and Rondo. My small set up is in the back ground. It was challenging sharing a small 6x7 tent with my grandson, but we got through it all right - and he's ready to do it again! Me too!

My grandson Lucas, at the Hawk block area. He had a great time at the doings, and really enjoyed Rondo and Beth. 'course he kept ol' grandpa a hoppin'...

Now when you go a visiting friends in camp, sometimes you just got to bring something back with you. If you'll notice - leaning against my tent is a Northwest Trade Gun (.58 caliber) that I pick up from my ol' friend Rondo. I've wanted one for a long time and thanks to Rondo, I have one now! I got it home today and my wife (Cindy) is trying to lay claim to it before I've even shot it yet. She really likes it! Me too!
Next year Cindy tells me we're taking the big 10x12 wall tent 'cause she want's to get back into the enjoyment of Rendezvous. So I reckon I'll be setting up a lot of canvas next year! And that's okay!

I even found some time to shoot a bit. That's me (my better side) on the far left.

Great pictures, Joe! Thanks for sharing! :bl th up

Hey Joe, glad to hear you & Rondo had a good time. :bl th up
Always wondered how that old potlicker Rondo ended up with such a wonderful child-bride, he must've bribed the girl's family with plenty plews, wouldn't ya say? lol
Ya got yerself a real Riflegun with that NW Trade gun....if my reading has been accurate, and there's no reason to think it hasn't been, That Trade Gun was very much in demand back in those shinning times of that wonderful era, and all for good reason.
Welcome back the two ya! :toast
Uncle Russ...

I'll tell you fellas right now,.... there ain't no better times than sharin' a campfire with Joe and his family. :hairy :hairy
I ain't got the pitchers (I took) posted yet, but my wife is gonna work on doin' that later today. I'm sure Joe will agree,.... when I say I'm more than a little "technically challenged" with such stuff. :laffing
I feel like I still owe Joe "some giftin'" for the use of his blow-tube (somehow I had managed to leave mine at home) and Beth'n I would'a had a harder time firin' up our campfires without the generous loan of his. (thanks again Joe :shake :toast)
Now, I gotta mow my yard, and unpack my trailer,.... then I'll have time to post back again later today. :wave

That looked like a great time. Enjoyed the pictures. :hairy

And there ain't no better times then a sharin' a campfire with Rondo and his little lady! :hairy Fantastic folks to be around and share some good ol' company, conversation and lots of laughter with. They're good folk for sure, and can't wait to share another camp with these fine folks! :hairy
Now Rondo my friend, once Beth bailed us out and showed us how to get that cork out'a the jug, well we both moved up a notch on the "technically challenged" scale. :bl th up I'm just plum happy she was around to bail us out on getting that cork out'a the second jug! :toast :*:
I can't remember the last time I had so much fun in camp! Thanks Rondo & Beth, it was truly shining times! :hairy

Joe, shinin' times, indeed.
Good photos, good people, all in a good place.
You wanna keep kids out of trouble? Put them in front of a hawk block, they will still be there when you come back.
Always wanted to go to a RDV at Chadron, thought it would be a great time. Suspicions confirmed. It would be a wee bit of a drive, though.
Maybe someday.

Well Roaddog, they're just some lite weight brown leather I came across probably 20+ years ago. I sewed a tab on the inside and outside of each pant leg where I wanted them to stay, then used some rawhide boot lace to tie them there so they wouldn't fall down. After that I used a whole punch to close them up on the outside with some beads on the leather - then tied a leg (legging) sash around each one and that's purty much it. Nothing fancy, but something that's been workable for years. :bl th up :shake

Thank Joe!I have some deer hide I'll use.My pants are to short so this will be the ticket. :shake :bl th up
